Your ass will thank you

I'm by no means an upholsterer and was suspicious of removing the cover and trimming the foam cushion on my V-Stars seat, but after watching a few videos I figured I would could do it. like anything else it just takes TIME, some proper TOOLS and PATIENCE. I bought a $15 electric stapler from Harbor Freight and a $10 black 9-inch electric knife from Walmart. Then I marked a line 1/2 inch above the seam and trimmed the front corners of the gel to fit. I then drew a line on the blade of the knife 5/8" from the tip and trimmed all the way around and then cut and diced until bits of styrofoam popped out. Then, using the edge of the blade as a leveling file, I adjusted the depth of the gel several times, put everything in place and started sewing the lid. Two tips 1. Cut the foam from the bottom of the seat, leaving about a 1/2 inch layer of the original foam on top, with no visible seams. 2. Cheap staple guns come with cheap staples. I don't have a photo but none of my riding friends for 25 years could tell that I did anything but they noticed I wasn't that grumpy at the end of the ride, you can do it and trust me the difference in comfort level is unreal alright good luck
