Although I'm very active, I love long runs and hikes and my heart rate is incredibly high, I don't even know in the summer sweat a lot; So I never felt the need for electrolytes. But my trainer advised me to try using electrolytes anyway as the strenuous efforts still affect my body. I took one capsule of Roctane Electrolyte GU before regular workouts (HIIT, CrossFit, strength training) and one capsule before and one after hiking and 10k runs. I noticed a slight effect on recovery and muscle cramps, but nothing major; but I also watch my recovery stretching. As a dietary supplement, I like to add vitamin D, vitamin B6, and magnesium, which is great for active women like me. The values for a capsule are still quite low. The biggest results I've had with these capsules relate to nausea and indigestion. Whether I'm exercising/running/walking faster or after eating, sometimes I get an upset stomach. Ginger helps a lot. The capsules are a normal size and easy to swallow.
