Coated with a thin layer of high temperature RTV on both sides. There are no leaks from the intake side and coolant passages yet, but it was necessary to listen to everyone and throw out the front/rear oil seals. Upon inspection the intake seemed a bit high and I was afraid the RTV might not be enough, but after pulling it down it was actually too tight and partially pushed out the front gasket before the engine even started. So there is some oil leaking in front. Take all the advice and just use an RTV instead and it's a cheap, durable gasket that will treat you and your engine well. Airplane.)
