I bought a few of these for testing purposes. It would be a great idea if it weren't for the plastic teeth. If you look at the teeth you can see they are sharp and deftly set at various angles to cut well, but clearly thermoplastic, they cannot be heated. Don't worry I just used a ratchet and socket and turned slowly. It might have taken a minute longer, but I didn't have to figure out where I left the socket-to-drill adapter. I cut a hole and the teeth were fine and the box slid right into the hole, smooth and light. The hole was so nice I went ahead and installed another box with the same outside diameter. No big deal, it worked great. Strangely, I cut another hole with the same teeth. Here is a photo after cutting TWO holes. I could use it again but I only bought two boxes and now I don't need extra holes. I noticed that the biggest issue was the hard coating and the paint. If I wanted to cut 3 or 4 holes I would first cut out just the hard surface with a knife. The flange on these boxes is quite wide, it hides mistakes a bit. I will never buy any other type of box, this is MAGIC.
