I have read about sous vide for a long time but the price of many units put me off. However, this is very cheap. On the first try, I put in two filet mignon, about 2-2.5 inches thick. Set sous vide to 125 degrees and leave for an hour. Love the fact that I could let it sit for 2 or 3 hours (or more) without even bothering. I ended up grilling them at 500 degrees for about a minute on each side and every bite was perfect. Great marks from the grill, some crust on the outside and consistently medium rare. For peace of mind without time worries and possible over/under cooking of expensive meat, this sous vide is just what I need.
