does the job well for material handling products

Bought for when I need to change tires on my caravan. It arrived today and I've been playing around with it. Here are my first thoughts: The instructions are a bit sparse. Before the first use, it is advised to release excess air. The instructions are clear enough, but they say to "pinch" the oil filler cap to let the air out. My fingers aren't strong enough for the necessary grip, but a pair of pliers will do. The oil level check instructions appear to apply to a different model. They talk about removing the "inspection sign". There is no such record. But nothing, these are small remarks. no stars The jack comes in a nice plastic case. I like it. The jack works well; My trailer is easy to lift. Cons: * The saddle is quite small - less than a silver dollar I would say. I believe this is a problem with most bottle jacks. In either case, this requires careful positioning under the trailer or vehicle to keep it stable.* To lower the jack, turn the release valve counter-clockwise and the vehicle will lower until the weight is off the jack. At this point, you must manually roll the jack the remaining distance. The manual says this may require force. When I first did it, it was a BIG effort: I had to step on the jack to get it moving. It's gotten easier since then, but still requires hard manual pressing. In my opinion it is more difficult than it should be and compares poorly to other bottle jacks I have had. It's still a good jack, but it's a little annoying. User note: The outlet valve has a rubber cap. The cover can be removed by pulling firmly. You must do this so you can turn the valve with the handle (otherwise the handle will not fit on the valve cover). Turning the valve manually without using the handle can be difficult.

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • Some issues
