Disintegrate when touched. Everything falls from your hands except for a very thin layer of powdered chalk. The remaining thin layer is quickly absorbed by sweat, and then you're back to nothing. I've had much better experiences with other random brands on Amazon. I suspect it might be due to quality consistency based on other reviews. As for my purpose of needing grip, this chalk felt extremely slippery when rubbed hand to hand. Unfortunately that's not what I need. Maybe someone else will find this useful. Anyway, my first comment still stands. The crayons that I've had the best results with were also much harder to break apart.
