Review on Optimized Marinco 30 Amp & 50 Amp Sealing Rings by Stephen Pendergrass

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great for watersports

Seems like Revain is confusing reviews of various Marinco o-rings. This overview refers to "O-ring and threaded ring 30A". It is designed to create a weathertight seal at the junction of two extensions. Only works with Marinco lines. The two cables should already have O-rings on the female ends (if not, you can get a new one on this page). This threaded ring O-ring contains another ring that needs to be installed on the male end of one of the cables (the end where the connection is made). You need to place the ring on the flange next to the plug. For example, check the end of the cord that already has a ring attached. It may seem impossible at first, but if you do it right, it will be easy. As reviewer G. or J. Horne suggested, start by sliding the ring over the flange at an angle on one side. Slide the ring onto the flange on one of the front edges, "similar to mounting a tire". After the middle of the street everything goes very quickly. I didn't have to use any tools. After installing the ring, attach the collar to one of the rings, connect the cords and attach the second ring to the other end of the collar. You now have a weatherproof connection that also holds the cables together. As some reviewers have noted, these thin rings of thread tend to stick, especially when dirt gets caught in the threads. A professional cleaning with a toothbrush, possibly with window cleaner, helps. Applying a thin layer of petroleum jelly won't hurt, but it also attracts dirt.

  • Slim design
Cons
