Unstoppable fun! Night vision mode

If you want a sharp, day-bright image, use IR and turn the FOCUS down until the image is clear. When it's focused, it gives a sharp image. If you are using the LIGHT INTENSE FUNCTION (ie not IR), please note the following. The human eye's pupil can open up to 7mm AFTER it has adapted to dark conditions. The exit pupil of this device is 5mm, which means IF YOU USE THE LIGHT INTENSE FUNCTION ON A DARK TONE, YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE THE BENEFITS. Go to a dark place and let your eyes get used to the dark for 25 minutes, then use it without IR. You'll see things you can't see with your own eyes, but don't expect them to be as bright as they are during the day when using the device in this way. It will be more like a cat or dog's night vision. You will see things, but they won't be as bright as during the day. If you use IR after your eyes adjust to the dark, it's VERY BRIGHT so your eyes have to adjust to the dark again which takes another 25 minutes. Therefore, I recommend the following: If you want to turn on the IR illumination, use only one eye and leave the other eye free for corrected vision in the dark without IR illumination. When you see with IR with one eye, your other eye maintains its dimming setting, allowing you to use the light amplification feature with that eye. So you can use the device in two ways at the same time. What I would like to do is go into the dark skies, away from the city, let my eyes adjust to the dark and try the stars. If I do that, I can post an update. My only complaint is that the ON/OFF button doesn't turn off, so I have to remove the batteries to turn it off. But the problem isn't big enough to bring it back and I suspect it's an accident so hopefully most devices don't have this problem. Also, the magnification appears to be around 3x, not 5x as advertised. This is actually a good thing, because the higher the magnification, the more the available light scatters and the darker the image becomes. At 5X magnification, it is only 0.36 at high magnification as it is at 3X magnification, so lower magnification results in a brighter image.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No performance
