A must for night vision goggles on a budget.

I am a combat veteran, so I have extensive night vision experience. This is a low light Gen 1 analog device with the classic green display you see in the military. For Gen 1, this is an excellent buy. Most Gen 1 night vision goggles have a little blur or 2 which is natural, like mine. Mine was on the far right of the Monica and is almost invisible. The clarity goes far beyond what I could expect from older technology like this. With two focus lenses, one at the front and one at the back, you…

Bad picture, blurry, bad product at this price!

Maybe it was just this unit I pulled off the property and checked out, but the one I got is absolutely useless unless you just want to find lighted places to walk . Darkness. I really wanted to like it, but after trying to get it to work properly I gave up. The price is too high for this product considering its characteristics. Seems well made until you start using it. No matter how little concentration you have, it is very difficult to maintain concentration. Mono will never focus when you…

Excellent Optics: Night Vision Monocular

I like this monocular very much. He sees quite well at night, especially when there is a full moon, but a full moon is not necessary for this job. The maximum range I've seen in total darkness is about 200 meters. At full moon it is much further. This is a 1st generation night vision device so the picture isn't the clearest but it's worth it. IR light doesn't get far for me, even in pitch black surroundings, so I'll get an IR flashlight at some point. Magnification 3x, but I would like 1x. It…

NOT BAD FOR GENERATION 1. I AM SO GOOD SURPRISED.

I bought this device because my 3rd generation device finally gave up after 26 years. I just couldn't afford a new one. With this device, images were decent up to a distance of about 400 meters with the ambient light available in my rural area. I had a partial moon plus ambient ground lighting from neighboring houses. I could make out cows in the fields across from me, 200 to 300 meters away. If you are looking for an inexpensive device that can see a person at a distance of 100-200 meters for…

Unstoppable fun! Night vision mode

If you want a sharp, day-bright image, use IR and turn the FOCUS down until the image is clear. When it's focused, it gives a sharp image. If you are using the LIGHT INTENSE FUNCTION (ie not IR), please note the following. The human eye's pupil can open up to 7mm AFTER it has adapted to dark conditions. The exit pupil of this device is 5mm, which means IF YOU USE THE LIGHT INTENSE FUNCTION ON A DARK TONE, YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE THE BENEFITS. Go to a dark place and let your eyes get used to the…

Can win a third time?

First, forget the negative reviews about blurry images. This is a user error! You MUST rotate both settings to get a clear picture, you MUST do this with any night vision device of this type. My 8 year old son figured it out in seconds. Now for my experiences with them. I bought 2 of these hoping one works. I am very disappointed with the quality control of these two devices. There is tremendous distortion at the 10-11 o'clock position in block number 1. It's too much to ignore and it's a shame

  • Free for educational purposes

Surprised after reading all the bad reviews

I bought this to check out the nocturnal animals that frequently visit my garden and patio and often encounter things at night, especially the trash can lid. The first night I set it up, set it up, and focused it, I spotted a raccoon walking along the railing of my deck and watched it move. I turned it on in passive mode because there was enough city light to see it clearly. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have seen it with the naked eye because the deck is in the shadow of the streetlights. What…
