This connector should work just fine if you need to stream various applications from your phone to a projector or monitor (any destination with an HDMI -Connection). When connecting USB-C to my Samsung S9 and then to my projector (Epson) or monitor (LG), there was no source detection. Just a black screen with a message about the lack of a source. Even when trying to use Dex from my phone, with the Dex on there was no indication that the phone knew it was connected to a video device through that cable. Maybe I'm missing something, but it certainly doesn't look like any kind of communication will go smoothly as advertised. And it's not because the target is "old" either - the LG monitor is one of the new curved monitors of 2020. I'll be happy to update the review if Warrky can prove that his product actually works with the Samsung S9 -Phone works.
