This is a quality set of carbide scrapers and a great tool set to get that lathe feel. They are a bit small from the "large size" but fit my hands very well. All four tools work exactly as expected and the carbide tips hold sharp edges very well. However, they tend to scratch rather than cut like hollowed out bowls, so you should expect more cracks in the wood. Using a fresh, sharp edge and a soft touch as you approach the finish helps reduce this. However, if you only use these tools, start sanding with a much coarser grit and expect to spend more time sanding. I also noticed that carbide tips are not a common size so it would be a good idea to order a spare set with the tools.
