VINWOX Carbide Including Finisher Detailer Review

What a great price for a carbide turning tool. I've used mine enough to blunt one side of the bit and turn the other side and it cuts like new again. A great way to try Carbide without spending a lot of money.

A colleague recommended this brand of chisel for price and quality so I gave it a try. I am very impressed so far. I replaced the carbide blade with a negative rake angle from EWT. It saved me a small fortune on the pen. Highly recommended.

After a few dozen uses, the carbide blade broke after gently engaging the already rounded acrylic blank. The handles are decent quality but I probably would have bought a different set had I known the blades needed to be changed so quickly. The company promised to fix the problem and I was asked for patience. It's been almost 2 months and they haven't kept their promise. Update May 2nd: The seller has finally fulfilled their promise to sell me replacement blades at a discount.

I have purchased several types of carbide turning tools for my mini lathe and these smaller ones seem to work the best. The problem you face when turning longer metal on a mini lathe with specialty carbide tools is vibration and a lack of detail. I've personally experimented with different lengths on my Wen lathe and these tools have worked the best so far. Longer tools will work, but you have to be very careful with small pieces of wood as they will tear and vibrate. I really recommend this if

Great tools at an affordable price and the customer service was fast and honest! I ordered a set of 4, when it arrived the pear slicer was disassembled (they put protective rubber on the blades to protect them but apparently UPS got the job done). Good price. The kit comes in a neat wooden box. Torx head screws instead of hexagon. It's good too. And now for the not so good stuff. The peach knife had a slight burr or damage. I uninstalled it, checked and reinstalled it. When reassembled, the cutter broke into three pieces. I've found you can get a better quality replacement in Woodcraft, but that's an extra cost for a tool that's only been used once. If they offer to send replacement cutters I will let you know. This is a quality set of carbide scrapers and a great tool set to get that lathe feel. They are a bit small from the "large size" but fit my hands very well. All four tools work exactly as expected and the carbide tips hold sharp edges very well. However, they tend to scratch rather than cut like hollowed out bowls, so you should expect more cracks in the wood. I'm a beginner at woodturning and this is the only carbide hole saw I have and it's my favorite! In fact, I ordered 4 more! If one side of the bit becomes dull, use the included small wrench to loosen the screw, turn the bit to the other side, tighten and use, leaving you with four sharp edges on one bit. Admittedly I ordered this figure, worst case scenario I can reuse the pins and tool holders. I was generally shocked at how nicely they are delivered. They arrived in a beautiful wooden box as shown in my photos. The handles are inserted into the holders and the cover is made of foam, so that nothing is damaged during transport.
