I read in reviews that the red clasp is breaking off so I decided to be extra careful. I went to a king crab fish buffet and the second leg broke in the plastic latch. It's in a place that's sure to get in the way. The scissors themselves worked great. If I were inclined to get another I would consider removing the latch before using. The latch is a thin piece of plastic, so bring a rubber band to hold the scissors together in case the latch breaks no matter what you do.
