I'm part of a group that hosts monthly dinners around a specific cookbook (or theme) of the hosts' choice. With the last one, I noticed that some dishes could really do with more salt and/or pepper. We spent it at the club, and there were no salt and pepper shakers. I'm spending the next one at a club and wanted to put a couple of shakers on each table of 4-6 people. I wanted something inexpensive but not cheap looking. I also wanted something small and 2 inches tall, perfect for the bi-monthly harvest. I didn't want to carry something too big with me to every event. I will pass this on to future hosts.
