Review on Festool Centrotec Adapters Set: Introducing SNAPPY's Premium 5 Piece Adapter Kit! by Ronnie Staver

Works well for me Suitable for power tool parts and accessories

I really like these adapters. They are similar to the McMaster-Carr 3185A41 to 3185A54 adapters except instead of regular bit holders they have a hex for Centrotec. I especially like the included hex adapter that slides onto the Centrotec hex so your wrench doesn't damage it when you tighten the bit. The detachable belt clip is also nice, so you can carry the bag on your belt without knowing where the contents of the bag are. I was motivated to buy this set because the Festool Quick Change Bit Holder 492648 that came with my drill (the holder never really impressed me) finally stopped catching in the groove of the heavy bits and dropping them . Didn't want to buy another one after it failed so I bought this set along with a B000X1R26Q Wera 889/4/1K Rapid Adapter hoping to use a 1/4" drill bit holder on a 1/4" hex shank too be able. Adapter collets have 4 sides. I found I had to round off the ends of the hex so the diameter was the diameter at the edges everywhere. Of course, to take full advantage of Centrotec's reduced runout, a lathe should be used for this, but I used a bench grinder and it's close enough to turn screws etc. Using Snappy's hex head, I was able to tighten it just enough not to slip through so far. I might try adding some B0002KKTIG Loctite 640 holding compound if I ever get slippage. You can see the result in one of my photos.
