I bought this to replace a badly worn grease. This is good for storing bacon fat, it filters out tough bits and has a very large capacity, suitable for a family who loves lots of bacon. Washed twice in the dishwasher, no signs of rust. However, there is a significant disadvantage in that the lid does not rest on the jar, but simply rests on it. Anything that can hit a jar in a crowded fridge will knock the lid off. For some people, a fridge that smells like bacon is so beautiful; I don't want it on my other products. I also don't want the bacon grease to absorb odors from the fridge. This would have been a 5 star product if the lid actually fitted the jar snugly.
