Review on ๐Ÿถ Optimized Outward Hound Dog Life Jacket by Crystal Barter

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Measure well, it runs small.

Just got this jacket for my 45lb mixed girl who can't swim very well. I ordered the large after trying to fit the medium one at the store and found that the medium barely fit around her neck and the back seemed short for her body. As long as it fits really well I can buckle the buckles around her chest and the neoprene flaps don't feel too big for her, the velcro fits snugly (the velcro lies perfectly on top of itself) before overlapping a lot. Also the nape area hugs their neck well where the velcro straps connect together, in the middle the velcro barely sticks together at the extreme ends which also meant the float that was supposed to help them hold their heads is now off was. sideways, not under the chin. I have included photos of her with the vest as well as photos of her measurements to give an idea of how it will fit. I briefly tested the top handles to lift and they seem strong enough, obviously not designed for long distances but strong enough to lift out of the water if needed. in the family. While the neck fits both him and my girlfriend, the neoprene closes at the ends and the buckles had to be undone almost to the end meaning it maximizes chest space. The length also seems a bit short. If you watch the Outward Hound fitting video you can see that the vest they put on the show hound fits my 45 lb dog just as well despite being a medium sized and not oversized. I'll update when we get her in the water and see how she actually handles it. Dog measurements +lb: Neck: 19.5 inches. Chest: 30 inches. Length (base of neck to base of tail): 26 inches.
