Great Latch Solid Brass Color

Great Latch. It's sort of "solid copper" in color and weight. Here is a helpful tip for frameless installation. This means that when you remove them you have to fill 4 small screw holes. I installed this in my bedrooms where the doors in room 1 swing open. Fix the slider to the door about 1.50 m above the ground with the 2 screws provided.2. On the body/finish, use a small vertical rather than a large horizontal. I did NOT have to embed it.b. Instead, I used very small steel washers (they should be less than Β½ inch in diameter to hide well).3. My steps: a. I drilled 2 mounting holesb. Insert screws through the plate. Place 2 washers between the plate and the wood on each screw4. This lifts the receiving plate off the wood by that thickness (less than 1/16 inch) and allows the latch to engage perfectly. Is it "less secure"? Well, for a few seconds. But if someone tries to kick in my door, I'd rather the bolt come off before the wood rips to pieces. Until then, I will definitely have time to defend myself! My doors (105 years old) are a bit warped. At this altitude it doesn't close very tightly. So I used the same screws under the latch to align them. If you use a small enough shim they won't show up and you won't even notice a gap under the latch or latch plate.
