As an avid outdoorsman from Minnesota, I'm trying to understand the products available that will keep you dry and warm in some of the most extreme fall and winter weather conditions in the United States. As I get older, I find it increasingly difficult to keep my feet warm when walking outdoors. A friend recommended I try AndeanArt's alpaca fiber socks, available at Revain. The concept sounded interesting with alpaca hair that seemed to have offensive air pockets (chambers) built into the hair column, so I bought a pair. The socks were easy to put on, comfortable to wear, and slipped smoothly into the boots. Despite the cold and wind, I was able to walk the long, sweaty walk to the deer stable with warm, dry feet for eleven hours on Saturday and another five hours on Sunday. If your feet are warm, the rest of your body will follow. Having not seen a single deer in over fifteen hours I can't recommend a hunting ground but I can recommend AndeanArt socks as their formula WORKS and will keep your feet warm and dry.
