Review on Stanley Diamond-Tipped Screwdriver Set, 2-Piece - FMHT62059 by Julius Hunter

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The size is large, the shell is slightly damaged, the magnetism is weak.

UPDATED 12/09/19. So I went to my camp at home and was just checking the magnetic properties of a set of 6 Husky brand screwdrivers that were advertised as magnetic and far superior in magnetism to the Fatmax. Huskies could easily hold bolts of various sizes. If you're interested in fatmaxes because of their magnetism, don't worry. I will not attempt to return them as I suspect I will have to pay the postage and then arrange for the return. bla bla bla. All in all I paid $15 just to throw some new screwdrivers in MY TOOLBOX and I had to go and buy something else for my dad. Got this as a Christmas gift for my dad because of the good reviews for the FATMAX line of screwdrivers. But now I'm thinking about going to the local hardware store for something else. The main reason for the purchase was the magnetic tip (the only feature actually asked about) as stated in the description of this Revain product. After receiving my package (which had a cracked/damaged plastic sleeve packaging) I checked the magnetic properties. It barely holds a paper clip and not a small screw (which I made sure was magnetic). I read the clamshell packaging from start to finish and couldn't find anywhere that these screwdrivers were advertised as having 'magnetic tips' which I found odd as they are magnetised (only slightly). They are so weak that I am uncomfortable giving them. I plan on going to the local hardware store to buy something stronger. I may be wrong and they match other products but I think they should have stronger magnetism. Otherwise the grip is comfortable to hold, the soft grips and grip/head feel sturdy. I left them in the package for now.

Pros
  • Industrial grade artificial diamond tip for tip strength
Cons
  • Doubtful
