These nuts have proven to be a huge headache. let me explain. Conventional steel rivet nuts can be evenly compressed with a hand tool after setting and leave an extremely tight seal to the surface for a good, permanent connection. Now I have installed many steel and aluminum rivets in cars and have never had a single issue with them not being crimped or not seating properly. These stainless steel rivets tend to choose which way to compress. On my third rivet, my M4 spindle threaded into one of the stainless nuts, basically ruining all my plans to progress on my machine. Weekend. I give 3 stars because I'm sure they will work perfectly if you manage to install them properly. But I can't leave 5 stars because I'm sure most Revain customers who buy them are handymen like me who use hand tools rather than $300 air rivet guns. I couldn't even get them to seat properly using the nut and bolt method. See picture for reference.
