These were a great way to get started with EL (electroluminescent) wire. EL wires glow mysteriously, and they can be bent into interesting shapes. These come all set and ready to go. Just turn them on and you can get solid light or a variety of blinking patterns. I've also cannibalized a set or two of these to use in more sophisticated projects. The JST connectors are nice because I could build a modular project and experiment more easily, but odds are you will use these as is. For me, it was a nice way to prototype and avoid the hassle of cutting and soldering EL wires.
