This is a great product!

Great product! Deacon without protruding nail heads looks great. If you want to treat yourself, buy two of these and the project will be three times faster. This system takes a little longer to install than installing nails, but the results are MUCH better. If you really want to get your deck right, NEVER go near the end of the board. Look at your current deck. I'll bet dollars against donuts that every rotted board rotted right where one board meets another board and both boards rest on the same joist. Most of them would drive 2 nails into the end of each board separating the ends of each deck board AND drive 4 nails into the joist in the same place. The planks from end to end retain water and lead straight to the beam which is split wide by FOUR nails which is why the decks fail. Place everything end to end in the same place, leaving a 1/4 inch gap between each end. The bottom frame should have a joist 1 1/2 inches from the end of one plank and another joist 1 1/2 inches from the end of the other plank. An extra joist about every 12 feet, but that's a cheap price to avoid chipping the nails on the ends of the decking and ruining the bottom joist. A trick I learned from Fine Home Building magazine many years ago. I bet this plan with camo screw guides and rubber coated deck joists will double or triple the life of your deck.
