So I bought both the Air Vent model and this Koomus smartphone holder model with CD opening. I'll start by saying it's a shame that automakers are so behind the times that they don't understand that every car should have a spot on the dash where a smartphone can be held so it's displayed in front of the driver. with the Driving Destination App of your choice. We have a need and Koomus came to our aid to fill the gap very well. The phone clip on this adapter works very well, it can hold a zipped phone or a phone with a full leather book style snap case - they all work and hold securely in place. The adjustable angle works like a premium product, easily adjusts and stays exactly where you want it. I have both Air Vent and CD Opening models in my car at the moment as I'm not quite sure which I like better yet. The Air Vent model allows me to place my phone to the left of the drive wheel so it's not really in the way, but at the same time right where I can see line of sight while driving. The CD opening model works great in my 2012 Volvo XC90 and it's in a good place as nobody uses CDs since Bluetooth replaced in-car music. The position of the CD hole is also a good place for the smartphone screen as it is still in the driver's field of vision. Over the next few months of use I'll decide which one is my favorite, but for now I like trying to use both locations to see which one I like best.
