I can put a project in a bag. 3 or 4 skeins (Caron) in the main compartment and don't lose your hooks and Fiskars foldables which I stow in the small zip pocket on the side. I have to say that the first time I mistakenly used no lace holes and regretted the worn yarn that I had to throw away because it rubbed the zipper. Lesson learned. If you love to knit, straight knitting needles won't work for you. I sometimes use 10" and 12" straight, both don't fit, even angled in the main compartment. Circulars fit with no problems. The material seems to be quite durable and if I don't snag it on a nail I think this bag will be with me for a few years. The downside is that I didn't see the washing instructions. The bag is often commented on. It catches the eye.
