Good water pump on bilge pumps

I bought this pump as an emergency drain pump for my basement. My immediate concern was the pump's ability to deliver the 9 feet of head I needed for the application. It turns out the pump can do that. The manual says the maximum fall height is 5 meters, but we know better than to believe anything our Chinese friends tell us. I haven't been able to test the maximum head, but I have tested that the pump delivers at 1ft and 8ft head. As with all centrifugal pumps, the flow rate is heavily dependent on the delivery head (delivery pressure). Usually the published figure assumes a 0 foot drop to make the current more attractive. Here, too, we know better. Thus, the measured flow at 1 foot elevation was 810 gallons per hour while drawing 4.0 amps from a 12 volt battery. At 8ft the measured flow was 585 gph at a current draw of 4.1A. At 9ft I should expect 400-500gph which is good enough for my purposes. This time I did not check the operation of the automatic float switch, my meter shows that it is working properly. In my photos you can see the blue tape on the exhaust pipe. I was forced to do this to adapt a conventional water hose to the pump. Incidentally, the diameter of the outlet pipe is 29 mm, as correctly stated on the packaging. This seems to be the standard diameter for boats, but this hose is not that easy to find in regular shops. The Revain listing incorrectly states it is 25mm. From previous reviews I see a lot of confusion in this regard, but the seller prefers not to do anything to correct the error. Updated 05/31/19. Description has been corrected to 29mm starting diameter but UK size remains at 0.95". Dear seller, 1inch=25.4mm if you don't know. Also please correct the inch size. updated 10/29/20. Outlet diameter is now correct. Finally! A direct email to the seller was required to do this.
