Review on 🏮 Safavieh Brentwood BNT865B Medallion Distressed Rug - Non-Shedding, 3'x5', Cream/Grey for Living Room & Bedroom Accent by Nicole Mcleod

The carpet has an attractive design and looks well made. The rug was delivered rolled up in a plastic sleeve with no damage. Upon opening the package, I noticed the pungent odor of the solvent. I spread the rug on the floor and opened the windows hoping the smell would go away, but after a few hours the smell was still very strong. The odor of the solvent was very similar to that of trichlorethylene, a chemical used to clean fabrics. The smell was so awful it gave me a headache, dizziness and nausea. Even my dog got sick. I took the rug outside and hung it up hoping it would air out. After two days, the street smelled as strong as ever. Washing the carpet can remove the odor, but you need a commercial washing machine and solvents can damage the machine. I categorically do not recommend this carpet to anyone, it is dangerous to health!
