Review on Unionbay Men'S Belted Messenger Cargo Shorts - Regular And Big & Tall Sizes by Patrick Alexander

THIN, Cheap, Overpriced (worn since 2015)

I have been purchasing UnionBay over revain since 2015. I had never heard of them and wanted to try a new shorts, for men, cargo style that looked comfortable. Gave it a try and being in AZ and it being hot the thinness helped a lot. When I say thin, they are thin. So thin if you got your pocket or leg stuck on something walking, I tell you with reassurance not only will it scuff the pants, if you walk away and are attached to something, like let’s say a nail, it will probably rip your pants in half, or do some serious damage. These pants are so cheaply made it’s the reason I now no longer buy them. You expect pants to get rips and tears and stains and etc, like my Lucky Jeans got tore up after 4-5 years of wearing them; but that’s 4-5 years, I’ve had UnionBay pants for 3 months and they fade, the color washes out in some areas and not in others. The shorts fade even after giving it a bath in vinegar and salt, the shorts will fade and within less than a year your blue will be gray, your black will be bluish/gay, your gray will be blueish stone gray, your khaki will be sandy faded khaki. They will have a stain from the smallest thing on them that never comes off and spread since you got it cause the material is so thin, you’ll have rips and tears and likely attributed it to ‘it’s just that pair,’ just to find out it’s every pair and you’re into the hole now over $100 with UnionBay.My point is that the product is cheap. It’s very thin, it’s breathable and comfortable yes, but so is wearing my underpants or swimsuit. I want clothing that’s going to protect my man parts from the worlds elements but also last me more than six months and be able to withstand a little wear and tear. But boys will be boys right? No, if you wear UnionBay your slogan will become ‘boys will be pants less.’ They will not withstand wear and tear.To put this review into perspective I have since 2015 purchased 12 pairs of UnionBay shorts. Why 12 pairs you ask? Not because I am collecting them; but because after 1 wash and soak in vinegar and salt they fade, because after I snag my leg on a nail or on a door handle that grabs my pocket I’ve nearly ripped my pants clear off my body, I once pulled a string out of a pocket thread and it left a gap between the pocket and the front of the pants. I spent hundreds replacing these stupid overpriced cheap shorts to try to make ends meet; and don’t get me started on embers (if you smoke), most clothing it just leaves a black mark, on these pants it burns a hole clear through them! That’s thin! The pants - replaced them 4 times in 1 year because of fading. I’ll write a negative for the pants also, but for the shorts; just get some Dickies, throw me in the wash to save the color (your wife will know) and then use some fabric softener, make them all soft and they are far more durable! You catch Dickies on a nail or door handle and that nail or door handle is coming off, not your pants!
