I needed to upgrade my DVD player technology and my goal with this Bluray player was to play my existing DVDs and Bluray movies to be able to buy. I currently don't have wi-fi but thought it might make sense in the future to have a player that is capable of it. The reasons I bought this particular player: #1) All customer reviews were good; better than anything else to describe the device as quiet and easy to use. #2) It's quiet and the picture and sound are impressive for regular DVDs, that's all we have. #3) It has an on indicator. light#4) I liked that everything is included. It included a cable and a cleaning disc, two things I didn't have to look for and buy separately. #5) The player was very easy to set up and the remote worked as soon as the player was plugged in. the need to add code. You press "Home" to select your function and it's just as easy. Sony's manuals have instructions for connecting to some brands of TVs where Sony is the default, so your remote will work with both if you want it to. #6) The player is small, perfect for keeping on my entertainment center shelf next to my cable box if there is some space left. Good. #7) The player pack arrived in good condition, well packaged and 3 days ahead of schedule. In addition, the seller put together a package that includes everything I need to set up and maintain the player, which made it much more convenient for me. I have nothing but praise for Hot Deals Electronics.
