I was very excited at the prospect of using this camera. The video quality looks good and the size is surprisingly reasonable. But after using it I noticed 3 major problems and 1 annoyance. Main Problem #1 - Glare makes it impossible to see the monitor when the sun is behind you. In this situation, it would be better not to have a separate screen in the rearview mirror. The workaround was to turn off the camera and just use it as a mirror, defeating the purpose of a dual mirror and monitor. Main problem #2: If the camera is mounted above the license plate in a sedan, the recommendations for reversing are far from it. And there is no way to move the lines closer to the bumper. Just adjust the touch panel, which is unreliable. And the guide doesn't make it clear how to set it up. Sometimes the sensor works and sometimes it doesn't. The main problem number 3 - there is actually no night vision. Just a standard video. Although it still remains clear as long as there is some light. Annoyance #1 – Touch screen sensitivity is finicky. The response is the same as the 1st gen touchscreen phones when they first came out. Maybe an update can fix this problem. Overall, I put a lot of time and sweat into installing this system. So he stays inside. But for my next car, I'd rather use an in-dash monitor or a separate monitor than a mirror.
