I have ordered 3 different brands of these 160 watt mercury UV/UV lamps for my green iguana cage. None lasted more than 3 weeks. This is the newest flashlight brand so I'll give it one last chance. Delivered today so I'll fit it after the power outage - let's see. I will be back to re-evaluate this particular lamp in 3-4 weeks. I have a 100 watt mercury lamp in my bearded dragon tank - I've been using it for 3 months now with no problems. I'm wondering if the short life of the 160 watt bulb is due to it getting too hot for my fixture or is it due to a lack of higher wattage bulbs in general? I don't want to spend $25-30 every month.
