Review on πŸ§ͺ Seachem Copper MultiTest Kit by Christopher Bates

0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 drops per gallon.

You are looking at freshwater tests I tested at 0,1,2,3,4.5 cupramine drops per gallon. 2 drops should read 0.25. Is that what the graph shows? Not at all. Can the kit be used with a defective card? Not really. Every time I need to measure the copper level in my aquarium I have to create new color standards using fresh water in a bucket. SeaChem provides reference water to check your results. It should be 0.50ppm, but it's also very dark and doesn't match the reference chart. Here's the biggest problem (when a buggy benchmark chart isn't big enough): the box says it's good for 75 tests, but it's actually closer to 10. The reason is that when you follow the instructions follow who use them with the tools provided do not give you enough powder. I bought two of these test kits so I can try to use the kit as instructed, scratch my head and run tests to see if the lookup table is wrong, and then buy another kit to run 9 tests that show me the true colors after adding more drops or cupramine. I have already started treatment with cupramine, what now? You have read the forums and you know that the best thing for me now is to try the Salifert test kit. So cupramine does not mix well with most copper test kits, it will skew the ammonia readings which is why you need a SeaChem free ammonia kit. Also, the copper test kit that you purchase from SeaChem is out of date due to accuracy issues and insufficient materials. These test kits should work with their product.
