Big downside when used with Cupramine

TESTING To test: 1. Use the provided titrate to draw water from the tank and place it (twice) in the provided bowl2 . Put 2 drops of solution 3. Put the wand in a really hard to open and tiny container filled with powder and coat the wand with the powder4. Insert this stick into the water/solution in the bowl and stir5. Wait 4 minutes if testing ionic copper including cupramine (15 minutes if using chelated copper). RESULTS ARE HARD TO READ I know some people are color blind and have trouble…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 drops per gallon.

You are looking at freshwater tests I tested at 0,1,2,3,4.5 cupramine drops per gallon. 2 drops should read 0.25. Is that what the graph shows? Not at all. Can the kit be used with a defective card? Not really. Every time I need to measure the copper level in my aquarium I have to create new color standards using fresh water in a bucket. SeaChem provides reference water to check your results. It should be 0.50ppm, but it's also very dark and doesn't match the reference chart. Here's the biggest

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black

They should be very easy to deal with

This test suite works amazingly well. I was very skeptical about the effectiveness of this test kit in combination with a copper treatment after reading many mixed reviews about the overall quality of the test, the misleading number of tests in the kit, etc. After doing 2 tests with the kit, I couldn't be happier, both with the results and the quality of the kit. I am processing a 10 gallon seawater tank and have been using cupramine at the recommended dose per the directions on the bottle…

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Some bugs
