I'm a new landscaper and love marking my plants - they work great! I printed out the labels, laminated them waterproof and placed them next to or under the plants. 9" is the perfect length - you can stick it as deep into the ground as you like. Also great for the garden. The only problem: I didn't order enough. I also volunteer at our local No Kill cat shelter and use them in floral centerpieces for our fundraisers.
