Just received this. I measured it to be sure how big it is. I poured 6 cups and there was still room at the top. The strainer is placed on top of the container and the lid is placed on top. Not sure what I'm going to use. I'm the kind of chef who uses little bits of bacon when cooking, like I'm glazing a pan. All of this serves to flavor dishes. I was looking for a container for my bacon grease; This one has a nice wide opening and can sit on the counter without propping up. A great addition to any kitchen!
