Just received this. I measured it to be sure how big it is. I poured 6 cups and there was still room at the top. The strainer is placed on top of the container and the lid is placed on top. Not sure what I'm going to use. I'm the kind of chef who uses little bits of bacon when cooking, like I'm glazing a pan. All of this serves to flavor dishes. I was very happy with this product when I first received it. It looks nice on the counter and functionally seems to work well with bacon grease and other cooking oils. However, my only issue, which brought me from 5 stars to 3 stars, is the mesh "filter" under the lid. The metal ring is small enough to fall into the container.
