I used to buy a case for my old original key as the buttons were worn but everything inside the original key still worked. The shell didn't match my original key interior and metal cut properly, but it worked, it just snapped everything together to fit. So I bought this spare key. Very good replacement for a 2012 Kia Soul. I took it to a local locksmith and it was quickly programmed and cut (the metal part of the key) for about $35. Works great over long distances. I also had to take the old mismatched shell with my original key in it to keep in the same program and use as a backup. A locksmith would reprogram all keys for the same price. So if you have more than one key, take them all to program at the same time, as most likely they will be reprogrammed and the old program will not work.
