If you don't install them for life and think you could drop them and walk away, think again. The user interface is archaic, see photo, and extremely difficult to use. Devices are set to 192.168.88.2 and 3, good luck trying to change the subnet and IP address - watch any youtube video and you'll see that nobody changed it, so it was all a test , not real production. Since Mikrotik is located in Latvia, there are some problems to understand the limited documentation and the very limited number of setup videos. You can contact support via email and they say they will reply within 3 days. You also need to unblock all Eastern Europe firewall blockers if you want to visit their website, download updates or even post on the forum. I tried both the desktop and antenna versions, after 3 days it worked, but they are very, very sensitive to ANY interference. I tried connecting two buildings about 100ft apart by shooting outside the windows - it didn't work out very well, add a tree or even rain and you're done. If you have enough time to learn everything about the router operating system and you don't mind old tools, have a clear line of sight and never walk in the rain, this might work.
