When they arrived I thought I had a problem. I have a non-power liftgate on my 2008 Sienna. A few reviews said these struts worked great on a non-powered liftgate, but when I went to install them I found the struts were about an inch too long and impossible to compress. Also, the two holes on either end of the jambs weren't lined up properly, so even if they were the right length, they wouldn't line up with the ball joints on the door. I contacted Strongarm and they got back to me within days of their issues being resolved. Here's what you need to do: The racks cannot be squeezed together, but by removing the two existing racks you can open the tailgate wide enough to fit new, longer racks. Warning, once both jambs are removed the door weighs an absolute ton and is potentially very dangerous. I supported it with a sturdy ladder while I worked on it. The thin end of the post really rotates, allowing the holes to line up. They recommend fastening the thick end to the door frame first, and then screwing the thin end clockwise. I was able to do this by simply holding the thick end in my hand and twisting it - it's pretty stiff but it will move. The whole job took me 5 minutes and saved me over $400 by getting a quote from a local Toyota garage. One small issue - my door now opens more fully than before due to the longer pillars. This is actually a positive thing for me as I'm 6ft 8in ๐
