Review on ๐Ÿงน NaceCare JVP180 James Canister Vacuum Cleaner with AH1 Kit by Nikki Byrd

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Handsome, quiet, obedient little guy without much flexibility!

For the last 5 years I've had a super quiet Electrolux canister that has served me well and eventually died as soon as I used the penultimate bag lol. I was looking for a similar vacuum but different because the Electrolux was poorly made with plastic parts that broke within a month or two causing the handle to spin during cleaning (really annoying but it was such a good worker I dealt with these years). So, after a few days of research here on Amazon, I settled on this one. First of all, this vacuum cleaner does what it is supposed to do, which is to suck very well. I have 4 dogs that shed like crazy year round (Florida), luckily my house has tile and some laminate. It picks up everything without pushing (sometimes I have to tilt part of the floor a bit to get bigger or more slippery (beaded bangs, etc.) to suck it up). It's also very quiet, which is what I was looking for so as not to startle my dogs and not be completely deaf after using it. I will make a list of the pros and cons of this vacuum cleaner IMHO: Pros: 1) Collects everything that is supposed to. Haven't tried it on carpet as I don't have one, but it does a good job vacuuming the few floor mats I have. 2) It's pretty quiet (not as quiet as Electrolux, but definitely not loud. 3) It has a very long cord (but no automatic wind) 4) Nice guy, happy yellow with a happy face (which you don't have to wear , this is a separate part) and it's small so it's easy to store. Cons: 1) You have to put the cord over the vacuum cleaner manually, you can't just press the button to wind it up automatically. The reason is that I think it has a very long cord which beats the manual rewind problem. Nice that you don't have to switch it on and off all the time. 2) It doesn't maneuver very well, catching on cords, furniture and walls, probably because it's completely round and not oval. With a vacuum cleaner of this shape, 4 swivel wheels would be better than stable rear wheels. I have to say that's what annoys me the most when I'm working with this guy. 3) The handle and part of the metal hose do not "click". You really have to nest them, which doesn't make them "twist free" (which was the only thing I hated about the Electrolux). They hold together well, but once they're a little twisted, they're difficult to take apart and put back together. I'm also not sure how well they will continue to stay "tight" for years to come (hopefully $200) 4) The attachments do NOT stay in place while you vacuum, I just take them off because I don't use them, but if you do, you'll be annoyed (now I don't recall ever having a vacuum where the "on board" attachments weren't a problem.) 5) There's no air hole on the End of the flexible part, so if you use without a metal handle, it will be sucked and stick to everything. Pretty annoying. All in all I love this little guy, it's compact, gets the job done quietly and looks good. The long cord justifies the need to manually wrap it around your head, but the flexibility and attachments are nothing special and that's the main reason I took the star off. I'll see how long James lasts with dog hair and then decide if it's worth buying again.

Pros
  • Vacuums and floor care
Cons
  • Minor issues
