Review on πŸͺŸ Dorman 741-431 Front Passenger Side Power Window Motor and Regulator Assembly for Ford Models - OE FIX by Jay Matlock

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fantastic value for money, great savings over OEM

I installed this in my 2004 F150 Lariat "New Body Style" Super Cab passenger door. Despite what Revane says, this is the right part for my truck. I recommend anyone purchasing this part to go to the Dorman website and verify the part number before making a purchase here at Revain as the Revain parts checker doesn't seem to have the correct value and it doesn't matter if a normal cabin, a super cabin or a crew cabin. It's been a month since I did the repair. Installation was very easy for me. Luckily I disassembled the doors and installed new speakers a few weeks ago, so I was fairly familiar with the process. Probably the hardest part of the job was installing and removing the hardware in and out of the door, being careful enough not to scratch the paintwork. I used duct tape to hang the window after it was detached from the controller hardware. Some videos online tell you to remove the window completely, but good strong duct tape worked great for me. I did the entire replacement by myself and didn't need a second pair of hands to do the work. Important Note: The wiring was correct for my 2004 truck. From what I've read, Ford reversed the polarity of the F150 regulator switch mid-year for the 2005 model year. If you have a newer model truck you may need to swap out the cables to get it up and down properly. Check the functionality before you reassemble the door! Once installed, the new engine will run just as quietly as the original engine it replaced. Since I still have the stock adjuster on the driver's side, I did a little "drag race" with the windows to see if the Dorman adjuster was faster or slower than the stock adjuster, which went up or down . It was a draw. So it's neither faster nor slower than OEM, which is exactly what you want. Speaking of the OEM driver side regulator, I had it replaced at the dealership after my truck was about 1 year old because it failed the same way as the passenger side regulator (the window fell off the door unexpectedly). It was repaired under warranty but I remember the price was in the $400 range. Considering the price of this aftermarket regulator, buying a Dorman product is a no-brainer. I can fix all four regulators for less than the dealer will fix one!
