My 4 year old quickly outgrew a balance bike, then one with training wheels and is on the verge of outgrowing his current 3-wheeled scooter so I thought this might be a fun replacement for the scooter. It seems fairly intuitive though a neighbor boy who grew up on one of these gave us some tips on how to maneuver it. There are plenty of videos online that you may want to check out before using this since there are some good tips to be had. Anyway, my 4 year old was able to get the hang of it fairly quickly. He wasn't entirely thrilled about it though and still prefers his old 3-wheeled scooter over this. Hubs and I both hopped on it as well and it held each of us with no problems at all. The frame is steel and there is no bowing or bending whatsoever on the decks. I really like that the handle bar is adjustable so we will be using it for a long time as long as my little man begins to take more of an interest in it.
