My employer has a key manufacturer. I got 2 new keys. I could program it and get it up and running in seconds. You start the car with your working key, wait for all the start lights to go out on the dashboard, turn off the car and immediately insert a new key and put the car in Aux-only mode without cranking. As soon as the light goes out again, you can turn the key and switch on the ignition. It's all on YouTube. For 2011 and newer models, the remotes only need to be programmed with the unit at the dealer. Hope that helps. I'm glad I have 2 new working keys worth $25 👍🏼
