Review on Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM FLD Lens: Large Aperture Standard Zoom for Canon DSLR - International Version (No Warranty) by Jnis Ginters ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I really like the product, it fully meets my expectations.

The selection criterion was an inexpensive fast aperture 2.8 lens - a replacement for the whale 18-55, preferably with a stub and a USM winder. I chose from this Sigma (2022 model) and Tamron (Tamron SP AF 17-50mm f / 2.8 XR Di II LD VC Aspherical (IF). Tamron disappeared after reading forums and reviews (a lot of marriage, build quality, problems with warranty repairs) I settled on a sigma, model of 2022, there are few tests and reviews, but those that are encouraging. Tamron and Sigma tests: . De/canon-eos/531-sigma1750f28os

Pros
  • Happy with the lens! The focus is fast (no yaw), at F/5.6 the picture is sharp, F/2.8 is clear but without details, the bokeh is soft, there is a slight vignette, the stubcompes with a bang. Before that, I shot with a Canon 50mm F / 1.8, I'm sure it will now gather dust at home. Compared with Canon 50mm 1.8 fix: ? p=0
Cons
  • In the store, I clicked a target from my hands, looked - everything seems to be fine, I took it (I HURRY). I clicked at home, threw it on the computer - an easy back focus. Tomorrow I took it to the warranty for adjustment. Master completed in an hour. This is the only negative and that could have been avoided if I were more careful about buying. Tip - take a laptop with you to the store, the screen is not always clearly visible.
