I'm not very picky when it comes to my razors. If they start cutting my face like a ghetto street fighter I'll replace them. I've been using old Gillettes for a long time. I upgraded to this and was amazed that my face can be as smooth as a baby's bottom. It works well, turns well, reaches all nooks and crannies without trimming the bumps and creases. Love the functionality of being able to flip it and use the trimmer blade to get under the edge of the nose. I even used it with just water as a last resort and survived to tell about it. I currently use cheap Edge shaving gel/hot water and I don't get razor burn or cuts. Maybe the more expensive the better, or maybe I just drink Kool Aid. If so, then it's delicious.
