I love these things. They work great in the bedroom at night. You can watch TV without waking up your wife. You can also get an AMAZING range from them - the entire length of the house (and we have a pretty big house). However, this is just advice for those who might get upset if they come across the same thing as me. At first I almost returned them thinking they wouldn't work. I am connected to the optical audio output on my TV. I kept hearing this static electricity in my headphones. There is no sound from the TV, only "interference". So I tried cinch-out on the cable box. The same thing. Just in case, I started looking through the TV settings. The audio output settings on the TV have not changed. BUT. Sound settings on the cable box DONE. With the cable box set to Dolby, there's nothing but hiss on these headphones. If you set them to "PCM" or "Stereo" (depending on what you have) they work great. So now I connect the HDMI output from the cable box to the TV and the optical output from the TV to the headphones and they are perfect. Charged quickly (in a few hours) and no issues so far. Just a piece of advice if you are facing this static problem. Check the audio output settings on all your components.
