Review on 📏 Enhance Precision and Efficiency with GAEA EM2271A Automatic Calibration for Thickness Measurements by Matthew Outlaw

Knowing how inexpensive this product is I didn't have high hopes that it would be accurate but at this price point it was well worth it. I will try to give an overview that is as unbiased as possible; although some of the questions are negative. This review is not intended to slander the device or the manufacturer of the device. I'm just giving an honest review of this device. There are some problems: 1) The calibration statement is extremely difficult to understand. 2) The device "freezes" during the calibration process. 3) Readings will not be accurate when using pre-measured thickness gauges. 4) You cannot set the readings contrary to the instructions. Pros: small, runs on 2 AAA batteries. The device is easy to read and is made of nice lightweight plastic. A beep is audible and clearly indicates that the device has "received" something. The device lies very well in the hand. The keys are clearly labeled and easy to read. Overall, I knew not to expect too much when purchasing this device. I mean it's 13 dollars I figured I could sneak away with a good cheap paint thickness gauge and unfortunately this device just isn't for me. I will end up buying a more expensive and reliable product. If I had to do it all over again, I probably wouldn't buy this device. Although the price is very reasonable, the device is not accurate enough to trust me. I mean, I don't want to tell a client they have 2mm clear and proceed with full color grading because I think I have 2mm clear and then go through the clear because the readings were wrong. It would cost me thousands of dollars because I would have to pay to have the panel repainted. It's just not worth risking thousands of dollars just to save pennies on a colorimeter.
