Review on πŸ§‡ Cuisinart Vertical Waffle Maker - Effortlessly Make Silver and Savory Waffles! by Stephanie Powells

Great for saving counter space but bad for making waffles

I bought this particular waffle maker after someone I know got the same thing and made great waffles with it. I don't know what happened to mine, but it doesn't quite do what it's supposed to. My biggest complaint is that I can't make a whole waffle with it. I've tried different types of waffle batter - both mixes and from scratch - and the end result is the same: the iron seems to fill to the brim, but somehow I end up with half a waffle every time. If I thin the batter with water to make it flow easier, and hopefully fill the iron better, I end up with wet, mushy waffles. Also, the waffles don't really seem to cook like they should. The instructions said you could get golden brown waffles at heat level 3, but mine were barely cooked at that temperature. Cleaning is a joke too. You can't take the plates out and trying to clean the grooves of the plates with anything is a waste of time, so you just have to leave whatever nonstick you use on it indefinitely. I regret purchasing this item. Since the person I know who has the exact same waffle maker (I also use the same waffle mix that they use) has had no problems with it at all, I can only assume mine is defective and I have no other choice , than to give it a way. because my return window has expired. I'm going back to the regular horizontal waffle iron because then I can at least see how much iron is full before I cook anything.

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Some mistakes
