Observations noted in other reviews: Clock displays in 12 hour format instead of 24 hours. Blue protective plastic for a reason. Just don't be in a hurry to take it off. Unfortunately, the instructions do not say to disassemble the light part to remove the blue protective layer from it. If you don't, removing the blue layer becomes a nightmare and makes the device look cheap with small fragments everywhere. What's really sad is that some areas that need protection don't have protection. One area that needs protection is the display. You would think that this is the only area that has a scratch guard. The LED backlight is whiter, perhaps closer to 5000K in color. The light could be a little brighter, but it's enough to see the entire hob. The fan always starts at speed 3. You might think it will start at speed 1 not to scare, but there's nothing to be done, it seems there isn't enough common sense here. If you are using touch controls, you also need to press and hold the power button for about 2 seconds to wake the system from sleep mode and then select the desired action. Be it a fan or a lamp. When you press the power button to turn off the fan, it starts counting down for 1 minute, which is great. Press again to turn off immediately. It would make sense if you could just press the fan button or light to access those features directly, but you can't. You need to press the power button again for 2 seconds and then press the desired function key. The logic is a bit annoying. FIRST IMPRESSIONS: After receiving the vent, I opened it up, took a quick look and tried it out. This video was recorded at different fan speeds and noise levels. The phone is very close, so it's a lot louder than it actually is. But pay attention to the "hum” of the motor. When I looked at the breather I noticed that the motor mount screw was not adjusted properly. So I reinstalled all the screws and made sure everything was installed correctly, but the buzzing didn't get any better. As I pressed on the body parts, I noticed that the buzzing decreased slightly depending on where I was pressing. 1. red flag. The metal it was made of also felt thin and flexed a little, but it was well protected. So I decided to proceed with the installation anyway. On the day of installation I took the vent out of the box and what I found was interesting. Notch at front of vent and crumpled side panel to back of vent. All of these sections were hidden under the foam padding which was not damaged at all. The shipping box was in great condition so I can only assume the vent was damaged at the factory. That's quality control for you. The metal was so thin that I could just push the plate in from the inside and repair the dent. No special tools, just my fingers. The dimple was in a crease so there was no way to fix it, but it didn't look particularly noticeable so I didn't touch it. Red flag number 2. The installation was easy and according to the instructions that came with it, which by the way are not very detailed. After the installation was complete, the hum was very noticeable and somewhat annoying. I pressed on different sections and found a spot that made it a little quieter and put a piece of styrofoam between the case and the top of the vent. The hum is very noticeable at fan speed 1, so I think the motor is inferior. I've also noticed similar things with cheap window air conditioners when running at low speeds versus higher ones. The vent case essentially becomes a resonance chamber, amplifying the sound even louder. Some soundproofing material would be nice. The fan assembly itself creates some vibrations due to the fan not being well balanced, but these vibrations don't seem to be transmitted to the surrounding environment. Aside from the hum, the airflow and resulting noise is quite quiet at low frequencies. In second gear, the grease filters make a very quiet hiss. The ventilation sounds great without a grease filter. I suspect the reason for this is how the air is supposed to flow through the vent. FINAL THOUGHTS: It might be $200+ price after some use. If the metal were a little thicker and the manufacturer paid more attention to testing the operating noise, absolutely! Touchpad programming could be improved. This is a nice device that removes a lot of air, so its functionality is very good. I hope I was able to give you useful information about your purchase and possibly manufacturers.
